Find out how a magician, a blacksmith, a poet, a scientist, a Duchess and a carpenter came together in significant encounters, in or near the Dutch Church, to solve the world’s most pressing problem. Don’t miss a lively and informative talk about the history of clocks and how the Dutch Church enabled these crucial encounters between Dutch and English clockmakers during three of the four Anglo-Dutch wars. Marc ter Kuile, former banker and entrepreneur who, after retirement, studied at West Dean College to become a clockmaker will inform and entertain you.
